HISTORY: In February of 1978, Guarantee Title
Company of Mobile opened the Gulf Shores branch office. In July of 1978, James R. Owen, Jr., the current President of Gulf Shores Title Company, Inc., was employed by Guarantee Title of Mobile. In December of 1980, Judy Thompson, the current Vice-President of Gulf Shores Title Company, Inc. was employed by Guarantee Title of Mobile. |

In February of 1985, James
R. Owen, Jr. and Herbert J. Malone, Jr. purchased the assets of
Guarantee Title Company of Mobile and the new company was named Gulf
Shores Title Company, Inc. In August of 1988, James R. Owen, Jr., purchased the assets of Gulf Shores Title Company, Inc. from Herbert J. Malone, Jr. |

PRESIDENT Jim Owen is the President and owner of Gulf Shores Title Company, Inc. Jim is a graduate of the University of Alabama, and has thirty-seven years experience in the title industry. He is currently involved in many civic organizations for the betterment of the gulf coast area. VICE PRESIDENT Judy Thompson is the Vice President of the Company, and has twenty-nine years experience in the title industry. Judy is a resident of Fairhope, and active in the Eastern Shore community. TITLE EXAMINERS Our title examiners are employed with a wealth of experience in the title industry and backgrounds in paralegal studies and banking. Each examiner is required to complete the Land Title Institute courses, which are dedicated to training in all areas of searching and examining title. CLOSING AGENTS Our closing agents provide closing services for residential and commercial transactions, 1031 and other types of exchanges. Experienced closing agents are readily available to assist our customers prior to and during the closing process. Their combined experience in the fields of closings, banking, finance, and real estate assures our customers of a friendly, professional closing. UNDERWRITING First American Title Insurance Company and Chicago Title Insurance Company underwrite the title insurance. These underwriters are generally considered to be the top two title insurance underwriters in the Country. They maintain offices in Birmingham and are always available with legal counsel to assist with any legal issues which may arise. TECHNOLOGY Our offices maintain the latest in technology, including title insurance and closing software, word processing programs, 24 hour on-line availability to county probate and tax records, and other internet services and e-mail. Our networking capability enables all offices to act as one unit, interchanging information as needed. Personnel can be reached by cellular telephones when necessary. |
